My artwork both reflects and evolves from a
consuming passion for tropical Queensland.
It was in this contextual jewel I was born and raised,
and have chosen to raise my own family.
My family culture was steeped in ball room dance, ballet, a love
of textile, embroidery,
dressmaking, craftwork and a rich appreciation of originality.
Childhood memories are couched in shades of tropical colour and
sensory experiences
related to the ocean, water, movement, fun and dance.
A sense of connectedness with the environment has remained part
of me - it urges me
to share my experiences through a variety of mediums, materials
and processes.

My work reflects who I was, who I am now, that which I cherish,
and that which
challenges the status quo of Brisbane today.
Through
Nancees Yard Art my work has burgeoned with life and vitality,
refelecting a tropical environment and a personal awareness of
the same. My pieces reflect, dazzle, move and unsettle. My pieces
challenge static concepts and push through traditional concepts
of tropical and outdoor design.
Reflected in mirror and emblazoned by mini-orb stands the environment
and the
'The Individual' is intrinsically part of the artwork,
and linked to the
experience of appreciation.
